Artist Statement: Seeing different pieces of artwork throughout the school and outside of school really inspires me to do my own artwork. my family and friends also motivate me to do my art. they give me feedback and help me when I need it. I used canvas to make my final piece of art because I have never used it before. I first drew everything on and then traced over it with a black sharpie. After I had traced everything, I then began to paint it. This piece of artwork is supposed to represent the topic, Racism. The picture should tell you that we need to accept everybody and it shouldn't matter the color of their skin. We are all humans and we should all be friends. I chose to do this topic because it means a lot to me. You see different situations throughout school and maybe even outside of school that involve racism. I know that there will always be racism in the world but hopefully we can "slow it down."

Artist Statement: I make my artwork because I want people to know what I'm thinking. Through my artwork I try to express my feelings in a way that makes sense to others. To make this piece of art, I first had to gesso the mat board and then draw my design on it with a pencil. To complete this piece, I worked outward. Meaning I started in the middle and then went out with it. I really like the way this turned out. I wanted this piece to communicate the Spring feeling. It is a flower that has five spring colors: green, yellow, pink, blue, and orange. When I here the word Spring I immediately think of flowers. By looking at this piece of art I want you to get that Spring feeling too: pretty flowers, green trees, and beautiful sunshine days. I LOVE the way my Spring flower turned out.

Artist Statement: My peers motivate me to do my artwork. They all give me good ideas and little suggestions. This cup was made to show the happiness in my life. I used my imagination to come up with the idea of what I wanted to do for my clay vessel. While making this, I took it step by step. I wanted to make sure everything was gonna fit and look right. By artwork means lots of happiness to me. I wrote my first and last name on the front and back. I then drew little pictures that show simple signs of happiness. I am proud of my piece and can't wait to see how it turns out after it gets fired and painted.

Artist Statement: We made this piece of artwork to work on our Principles of Design and Elements of Design and putting things together. We had to talk with each other while designing our piece and doing the layout. To design the piece, I made a lot of little ones and chose my best one. Then I decided on a color scheme and chose the best one also. I wanted to create an arrow because I wanted it to symbolize, moving on. In the piece, I wanted it to point somewhat up and to the right to indicate moving on. I'm always thinking how things and people move on. Whether it's a bad day or a good day. I'm proud of my piece of work.
